Swarm Removal

Our Services to you

We are offering the people of Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Longford the removal of Honey Bee swarms from your garden, building or local area. For FREE. Yes that is right for FREE, but if is is a case of mistaken identity and your honey bees turn out to be Wasps or Bumble bees there will be a fee of €50. See the bottom of the page for a photo of a honey bee.
Honey Bees are declining worldwide and a proportion of these losses are due to the fact that they set up home where they are not welcome and are usually killed by pest controllers. We want to give these Honey Bees a second chance and you should too. We totally understand that bees are not for everyone and some people have a real fear of bees or medical condition to bee stings. But we should all help to conserve them. That is why we offer this service FREE. We do offer a removal service to Counties outside the above mentioned but because of the distances we have to charge a travelling fee but the removal fee is still FREE.
All you have to do is click here to Contact Us.

Thank You.

What is a Swarm?

A swarm is natural to bees; it is basically without getting into too much detail the way in which bees multiply. A colony usually decides in spring but it can happen later in the year that they want to swarm and start preparing the hive for this event. They will raise new queens and once happy that the new queens are doing well they will split the colony in two and fly out to a meeting point. This is where most people will come across them; they could be hanging from a tree or fence or even under an eve run. The Queen then joins them from the hive and once all there (which can take a while) they will head off to their new home which has been found for them by their scouts. Once they arrive they build up comb very quickly to get established. Meanwhile at the original hive the new queens will fight to the death to become ruler of that colony.

·         Interestingly if they set up home near you it is a very good indication that your local area is thriving ecologically.

·         They also are at their most docile as they are homeless and full of honey as stores for the move.

·         A lot less likely to sting but just to be safe do not approach them. Leave that to Me.
